Blackburn Elementary is proud to be a vibrant part of the Catawba County Schools district. Our school is home to approximately 500 students. Our mascot is the Blackburn Bobcat.
At Blackburn, we guide each child to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. We believe that every student deserves an environment where they feel safe, supported, and challenged to reach their full potential. Whether it’s in the classroom, the library, or on the playground, we work together—with students, families, and staff—to build a culture of respect, curiosity, and Bobcat pride.

Principal’s Message
Welcome to Blackburn Elementary School, home of the Bobcats! I’m honored to have served as principal here for the past 10 years, and I can truly say: Once a Bobcat, Always a Bobcat!
Blackburn is more than just a school, we are a family. Every day, our staff, students, and families support one another through challenges, celebrate each other’s successes, and take time to laugh, learn, and grow together. We are proud to be part of the Foard Feeder pattern, preparing our students with the knowledge, confidence, and character they need to thrive at Blackburn, on to Jacobs Fork, then Fred T. Foard High School and beyond.
